TARGET PUBLIC

The main target groups in this project are:
  1. Trainers and personnel related with vocational training, both formal as well as non-formal through the project and its results, they obtain access to knowledge about Open Source Software training and ralated issues, i.e., to classified training materials according to some standar parameters allowing them, through a self-diagnosis process access to those more appropiate under every circunstances or/and learning and training situation. Learning experiences and a support system designed based on their own need, helps them improve the training teaching processes at the same time they adquire and improve their abilities to provide training in the OSS field.
  2. Vocational Training Organisations and Institutions,i.e., those that design and provide programs, pathways and vocational training courses both formal and non-formal. Through the project and its results they gain access to knowledge about the training in OSS, and related topics, both curricular design, as well as classified training materials according to some standar parameters that allow them an access to the more appropiate materials for every kind of course/training/participant. Thus they offer a training and learning of higher quality, and adapted to the parcitipant and the labour market needs.
  3. Trainer and Teacher Support Centres, offering training and support services. They are a source for resources of the same. Project results will be drawn, by integrating the knowledge base and support services in the resources they offer, thus improving their services and adapting them to technological changes and to the requirements of the information society, where OSS adquires more and more importance.

The immediate target are also potential users, however there are potential users who may benefits, without addressing activities.

  • Human Resources departments or areas that design and/or implement training courses or courses for the staff of the organisation, they have access to knowledge about learning regarding OSS and related materials. The use of self-diagnosis allows them and access to the most appropiate materials for their employees, getting them ready towards a migration to OSS that is increasingly evident in compannies and organisations, specially in SME.
  • Educational Authorities, namely those responsible for the design of the educational supply at all levels. The results of the project can help them design educational pathways adapted to the technological changes, and the growing demand in the labour market of competences in relation to OSS, as well as to have an access to training materials and learning experiences than can be adapted and put at the disposal of their trainers/teachers.
  • Organisations that promote the adoption of OSS in all fields of society (bussiness, public administration and civil society), the obtained results will help them to improve the awareness creation, as well as to improve the process of migration, since the knowledge base allows them the access to materials and knowledge to develop better human assets for the change (and thus obtained a higher percentage of successfful migrations).

It could also benefit:

  • Bussiness partnership which offer course in a timely manner training. This association can take advantage the training materials and the support system to design the courses.
  • Unions, access to these knowledge in order to take advantage it in their own courses and pathways, as well as for interventions in educational and training policies.
  • Companies in the field of OSS, (including developers communities), access to information about the sector needs.
